The revision makes use of a Static Class known as "SaveMemory" this keeps track between scenes of the name of file we want to load, and its dimensions for later, combined with my menu a file can be loaded or a new one created from scratch.
I will get a video out in the next couple of days, but I now have working Saving and loading through Stream Writing and Reading, rather than Serialization which I was originally going to pursue.

Nothing fancy right now, but I have implemented the StreamWriter/Readers correctly to write to a text file a String followed by firstly the a number which is how many numbers are to follow, and then those. This means I can save a list of numbers, and then load that in another scene and that handles correctly to spawn rooms as per the index numbers defined. The next step now is to Test making a setup that can save to different files, my idea is one file will handle the list of saves which will be read first, and then from that any previously made map can be loaded, from another file that will hold the name of the map to be loaded. |
